The transformation

One line. Two floors.

This is a single photo, mid-job: on one side the tired, dull original — on the other, the fresh Hillyard gym-grade gloss with the game lines coming back to life. That wet edge is the whole story of what we do, in one frame.

What we refinish

Gym floors first. Wood floors always.

Same craft, dialed in for the surface — a 10,000 sq ft gym, a church multipurpose room, or a living-room oak.

Summer specialty

Gym Floors

Schools, churches, community centers, athletic clubs. The summer window is short — we screen or sand, recoat to a gym-grade gloss, repaint the game lines & logos, and get you reopened on time.

New for 2026

Residential Wood

Bring tired hardwood back to life — the same screen-and-recoat craft, sized for your home. Low-odor finishes, dust-managed, in and out clean.

After-hours

Commercial Wood

Offices, retail, lobbies, restaurants. High-traffic wood recoated on your schedule — even overnight — so customers never see the work.

Why Portland Gym Floors

Built for the summer window — and the season after.

Gym floors aren't regular hardwood. We treat them like the athletic surfaces they are.

Scheduled around your reopening

Summer is short. We lock start & completion dates to your calendar and hand the floor back cured and ready — not "almost."

Gym-grade Hillyard finish

A slip-tested sport finish built for sneakers and bleachers — not a household poly that clouds and wears in a season.

Game lines & logos to spec

Keys, three-point arcs, volleyball lines, center-court logos — repainted crisp and accurate as part of the job.

One fixed price

We measure on site and quote a fixed number. No "we hit something" change orders mid-project.

Dust-managed, low odor

Contained sanding and low-VOC coats so the building stays usable and the air stays breathable.

Questions

Gym floor refinishing, answered.

For most gyms, a screen & recoat is a one-day job. Then plan 7 to 14 days of cure before heavy play — the exact window depends on humidity. A full sand & refinish is a larger, multi-day project. Either way, we schedule around your reopening so the floor's ready when you need it.

A screen & recoat lightly abrades the existing finish and adds fresh coats — great for maintenance and bringing back the gloss. A sand & refinish takes the wood back to bare for floors that are worn, grey, or damaged.

Yes — game lines, key areas, and center-court logos, crisp and to spec, as part of the refinish.

We finish with Hillyard gym-grade floor systems — a slip-tested sport finish built for athletic use, not a household poly.
